Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club the Newcastle Falcons have completed the signing of Juan Pablo Socino, the Argentine centre from the Rotherham Titans on a contract of two years ahead of the new season of Premiership rugby.
Having previously played with Nottingham, the 25 year old believes playing for the Falcons in the Aviva Premiership next season will enhance his chances of playing for the Argentine national team as well as making it to the squad for the Rugby World Cup which will be held in England in 2015.
Socino is currently the top scorer for the Titans as well as in the Rugby Football Union or RFU Championship with a whopping 261 points this season.
The Newcastle Falcons have also confirmed that their highly promising youngsters – 19 year old Scott Wilson and 21 year old Dom Barrow – both of whom play at forward positions have also signed new extensions with the club that will see them play for the Falcons for the next two years.
The duo was a major part of the England Under-20 squad in their Junior World Cup success last season where the performances of Wilson earned him a call up to the England Saxons squad this season.
Barrow, a second row from the Sheffield region of England, made his first appearance for the Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership in the first weekend of this season and has been a first team squad player regularly this season.
According to Dean Richards, the Director of Rugby of the Kingston Park based club, he is delighted to have secured the services of Socino as well as securing the futures of the two brightest young talents in the team and they will be a core for the future of the team as it targets a major trophy.
