Two Falcons in Team of the Year

Although Newcastle Falcons may have been struggling at the bottom of the points table, two of their players have caught the attention this season. The Newcastle Falcons duo Mark Wilson and Rob Vickers have been named in the Team of the Season.

Falcons’ loosehead prop Rob Vickers, who played his 200th game for the club, has earned his place after his brilliant performance this season dotting down five tries, more than any other forward in the competition. Wilson, on the other hand, was selected after having a wonderful season making 230 tackles, more than any other players in the Aviva Premiership.

The Team of the Season features Jack Nowell (Exeter), Ollie Devoto (Bath), Alex Goode (Saracens), Peter Betham (Leicester), Jimmy Gopperth (Wasps), Rob Vickers (Newcastle Falcons), Will Chudley (Exeter), Telusa Veainu (Leicester), Mark Wilson (Newcastle Falcons), Jake Cooper-Woolley (Wasps), Tommy Taylor (Sale), Nathan Hughes (Wasps), Don Armand (Exeter), James Horwill (Harlequins), and George Smith (Wasps).

Meanwhile, Newcastle Falcons pair Andrew Davidson and Callum Chick will start their campaigns at the Junior World Championship on Tuesday. Davidson, who joined the Falcons from Warriors, is a part of the Scottish U20 squad.
